What a day at the Peak!

Hi everyone!

Hope this blog finds you all doing well.  David and I ventured out today to the famous Pikes Peak.  We packed a lunch and planned on driving up to 12,000 feet, but we kind of chickened out and took the safe, warm way via Cogs Railway.  It was a 3 hour ride (up and back).  Wow!  We left the railway station and it was 60 degrees and got to the top of the Peak and it was 0.  Yes, that would be 0!!!!!  OMG!  I about died it was soooo cold.  When we got back from the train ride we thought it would be cool to climb a little bit of the mountain.  Well.. we were doing good (well, David was) and I was behind huffing and puffing and begging him to stop.  Well, we turned back to head down the mountain and I fell and busted my rear and my hands!!!!  Wow, that really hurt, but he was kind and carried me the rest of the way down (just kidding, Dad).  David decided to venture outside to get some pictures.  I decided to stay inside to stay warm!!!!

Here are a few photos from today.  We've also uploaded more photos on our Snapfish site.  I will send you an email to that link.

Have a wonderful weekend and know we think about you every day!!!

We're here!

Hi everyone,

We made it on the first flight (woo hooo) and had great seats (not first class though), but when you fly for $54, any seat is a good seat.  :)  The flight was great except for the landing.  I about squeezed David's fingers off because it was a scary landing.  I felt I was on a roller coaster.  Anyway, we landed and all was good and David still has all 5 fingers!  We picked up our rental car and drove about an hour South to Colorado Springs.  OMG!  The mountains here are gorgeous and huge.  Pikes Peak is amazing and has snow all over it.  :)  We went to see our apartment today and every window looks out to Pikes Peak.  What luck!  Very nice apartment and the pool is heated year round.  David can't wait to start swimming laps.  It will be great place to live until we find a home to buy!

Tomorrow we're going out exploring and finding Harris.  I guess I need to find where I'm going to work considering that's why we moved here.

Here's a picture David took out of our hotel window this afternoon.  We will post more soon!

We love you all and thank you for all your support and prayers!
